Step 1: Choose an organic egg
Start your morning with a vigorous reach for the chicken basket. Choose one of our gorgeous organic eggs - it's been laid by happy hens from Mrs. Schütz's farm in the Wiliberg View region, so treat it with the appropriate reverence.
Step 2: Egg piercing etiquette
Gently place your organic wonder on the egg piercer. A little prick and voilà - your egg is now refreshed with air and ready for the water bath, without any annoying bubbles. Don't worry, the egg won't feel a thing - egg piercing is wellness for eggs, so to speak.
Step 3: The egg basket and color memory
Place your egg in a basket and remember the color! If not, the egg could switch sides and end up at your neighbor's table. Keep a close eye on it - it would be sad to lose your hard-boiled lucky egg to someone else.
Step 4: The cooking times
Note the cooking times: 6 minutes for soft-boiled, 9 minutes for the famous "Zofinger Altstadt Härteei" (Zofingen’s old town hard egg).
You can experiment here depending on your preference - and courage.
Step 5: Off into the ice water
Take the basket, maneuver the basket ceremoniously to the ice water and lower the egg into the cold waters so that it can retain its warmth from all the excitement. Give it a few seconds in the cool bath to reach your hands perfectly ripe.
